Sam Okafor — Participant

From the Meridians Wiki · Public · Maintained · joint

Private · one consequential life moment. Sam brings a salary conversation, a hard talk with a co-founder, or another decision that ordinary life lets him rehearse only once.

Why he buys

Sam does not need another productivity system. He needs a safe place to name actors, incentives, private information, constraints, and candidate moves before a real conversation closes the door. The value is not confidence. It is seeing which consequence his own commitment makes more likely.

The causal loop

He describes the moment → an operator turns it into a Domain → branches expose possible consequences → Sam chooses a move → the world remembers → he asks “what did I cause?” → he retries as an experiment.

Opening objection

“You cannot know what my manager or partner will do.” Correct. Meridians does not predict another person. It prices pathways in a declared world and makes uncertainty inspectable.

What the model captures

Actors, incentives, asymmetric information, constraints, and the causal spine of a chosen commitment. It can preserve the scenario and its branch history. The interview and situation-to-world conversion are currently desktop and manual through MCP.

What would lose him

A confident forecast, an uneditable psychological verdict, a hidden commitment, or a polished scene that does not let him identify what his move changed.

Shipped / direction boundary

Scenario records and bounded branch runs ship. Voice intake is direction. Automated MWS and a fully built VN reader are direction; Sam’s private reading must remain non-diagnostic and attributable.

Seeded situation

  • Situation: salary conversation after a role expanded without a matching title.
  • Actors: Sam, manager, finance partner, absent sponsor.
  • Incentives: retention, budget, status, fairness, and avoiding precedent.
  • Private information: Sam’s outside option and manager’s hiring freeze.
  • Constraints: one meeting, unequal authority, no public escalation yet.
  • Open Fate question: does a specific ask create leverage or trigger defensive delay?
  • Candidate moves: anchor a number; ask for scope first; disclose the outside option; defer with a written plan.
