# Anti-personas — who Meridians is not for

> Meridians is a causal simulator, not an oracle, diagnosis service, passive streaming catalogue, or
> one-off answer box. These are fit boundaries, not insults.

## The fit test they fail

The fit requires a consequential situation, causal thinking, authorship of the move, and a return to
ask **“what did I cause?”** A person can be curious about the premise and still fail the test.

## Oracle-seeker

**Wants:** a prediction, certainty, or verdict.

Meridians prices pathways in a declared world. It never predicts the actual future and never chooses a
commitment for the person. A forecast product or ordinary advice may serve this person better.

## Self-diagnoser

**Wants:** a clinical reading or a definitive account of who they are.

Latent-trait readings are unbuilt. If they are built, they must be private, non-clinical,
non-diagnostic, and never verdicts. The current product can show what a move caused; it cannot certify
a person.

## Passive viewer

**Wants:** a story without deciding.

A book already serves this need. Prepared Experiences are visual novels, but their reason to exist is
that a reader can commit, meet consequence, and return. Watching without choosing is not the causal
loop.

## Answer-seeker

**Wants:** one answer to one question and no return.

Search, chat, or a consultant may be cheaper. Meridians carries state and branch history; that is
overhead when there is no situation to keep or experiment to retry.

## Completionist

**Wants:** every branch, badge, scene, or collectible.

Coverage is not causality. A completionist can consume content while never owning a move or asking
what it changed. Do not optimise the product for exhaustive route collection.

## Engagement-seeker

**Wants:** more play, regardless of whether the play changes understanding.

If play rises while returns to **“what did I cause?”** stay flat, the causal loop is broken. Retention
without attributable consequence is not evidence that the simulator works.

## Response

Decline to over-promise. Ask for the situation, its actors, incentives, information, constraints, and
candidate moves. If those are absent, do not manufacture them merely to keep someone in the funnel.
