# Streams

that reposition the read). They read different targets and emit different artifacts (Streams vs. Position
Signals) but present as ONE Research phase in the schedule + run UI. **Opinion** is a deterministic salience
pass over committed belief movement (Thread stance, Stream movement, Position movement) followed by a concise
explanation — it calibrates attention, it is not a summary. **Merge** is the model-editing edge: mature
Streams + material Thread changes fold **autonomously** on the domain's cadence into a **Merge** and a
generated arc (the only Program task that creates continuity); the human shapes it *earlier* — designating
stream outcomes in the Merges area before the pass, or merging early. **Position** is the foresight edge:
compose a **Graph → Reading → Position** and establish or maintain a self-updating **Position** *with its
monitor* (an unmonitored Position cannot be created through the Program); each Research pass applies
