# Run · Directive · Event (the Program machinery)

A **DomainProgramRun** is one scheduled/manual task
execution (operational audit: what it targeted, the version/cursor it pinned, which directives it
reserved, its status). A **ProgramDirective** is *staged intent* — a typed instruction (per task:
watch-instruction / opinion-attention / tutor-decision / project-decision, incl. a staged re-price
for the user to review) that is an immediate record write but whose WORK waits for the next
eligible run to reserve → apply it (**arm now, fire on tick**;
nothing silently applies or expires — a changed basis makes it **stale**). A **DomainProgramEvent** is the
stable projection input a Story reads: it points at canonical artifacts (never copies markdown/stance
history) with a deterministic id per run so replay can't duplicate a card.
